Leeds County OPP officers were alerted to a truck heading east on westbound Highway 401 in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
When they found the transport truck after the 12:40 a.m. call, the driver had parked on the shoulder of the highway near Gananoque.
He’d fallen asleep, the 25-year-old trucker told police.
The Brampton man is charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
