Ottawa police are looking to identify a man suspected of assaulting a gas station employee in early October.

On Sunday Oct. 8 around 6:30 p.m., police said an employee from a gas station confronted a “suspicious” man on the 1600 block of Bank Street, near Heron Road.

Police allege the suspect became violent in the confrontation and assaulted the employee, before leaving the area and heading east on Heron Road.

Police described the suspect as an Aboriginal man in his late 20s or early 30s, with dark hair, a thin build, a dark blue baggy jacket, burgundy shirt and grey track pants.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call Ottawa Cst. Curtis Hebert at 613-236-1222, ext. 6882. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.

The Ottawa Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify a male suspect in an assault from October 8, 2017.
