Police have laid dangerous driving charges in a single-car crash on Highway 105 in the village of Alcove, just north of Wakefield.
The 27-year-old driver had just blown past police radar at 150 kilometres an hour, when he lost control of the car on the two-lane, winding highway. The speed limit is 9o km/h.
The car went down a grassy embankment near the corner of River Road and snapped a streetlight pole in two. In spite of the damage, the driver, a man from La Pêche, refused to go to a hospital.
He’s facing a $1,072 fine, 10 points on his licence, and the dangerous driving charge.
