Are you a child or youth who wants to be a part of Ottawa’s history? We’re looking for names for all 40 of our City’s train cars – 34 electric train cars on the O-Train Confederation Line and six diesel train cars on the O-Train Trillium Line.
Naming train cars is something that railways all around the world have done since the earliest days of running engines on tracks. Just like ships have names, so too do many trains. It gives them a little character and personality and helps us identify with each train a little more closely. So bring a little bit of yourself to Ottawa’s newest train cars and become a part of our city’s tradition and history.
The contest is open to children and youth aged 16 and under. You can submit as many names as you want, but each person can only win once. The contest is now open and submissions will be accepted until December 8, 2017. Find contest rules and submit your train car name suggestions at the Ready for Rail page at octranspo.com/ready4rail.
