Before you go to bed on Saturday night, make sure you set your clocks back by one hour.
The end of daylight saving’s time will occur on Sunday morning at 2 a.m., giving most Canadians one more hour of much-needed sleep.
The annual ritual began as an energy conservation measure which was used by governments during the First World War, but it became an international practice in the 1960s and has been a point of debate ever since.
Saskatchewan does not recognize daylight savings and the Alberta legislature has debated doing away with the practice.
Fire officials also recommend that the annual clock switch should serve as a reminder for homeowners to check their fire alarms have fresh batteries.
