A woman in her 80s was in life-threatening condition after she was struck by a truck near the intersection of Montreal Road and Lajoie Street in Vanier Friday morning.
Paramedics arriving on the scene found the woman unconscious and began performing “aggressive airway management” measures once she was loaded into the ambulance.
The victim was taken to the Ottawa Hospital’s trauma centre with what paramedics described as a critical head injury.
