Those who routinely cross from Ottawa to Gatineau may have noticed a new structure on the Portage Bridge.
Those who don’t may soon want to make the crossing. It’s called the Gather-Ring, and it’s more than just a pretty place to rest your feet.
It’s a public art installation, constructed through Heritage Canada’s Art in the Capital program. The Gather-Ring will be on display until July 2018.
Manuel Baez, the architect of the project gave us a tour of the creation, and explains the significance of the piece in connection to Canada’s past and future. Watch.
