Thousands lose power in Greely due to 'animal contact'

Almost 5,000 customers were out of power in the Greely region Saturday after due to an outage caused by “animal contact.”

Hydro One was not more suspect on the animal suspected, but squirrels have been known to break lightning resisters on power lines, which can lead to outages.

Hydro One said repair crews have found the cause of the break and expect power to be back by about 3:30 p.m.
