CTV Morning Live weather host Melissa Lamb has been let go by the network, according to a post on her Facebook page.
“It is with shock and sadness that I am making this post today … I’m sorry to say that I am no longer a part of CTV Morning Live due to Restructuring,” she wrote.
The Vankleek Hill-born and Orléans-raised Lamb cut her teeth in television in 2006, working as a reporter covering the Ottawa Senators before returning to school to pursue a career in TV journalism. She received a post-graduate certificate in broadcast journalism from Seneca College. She worked for two years at CHEX TV in Peterborough before returning to Ottawa to work at CTV.
In her Facebook post Thursday morning, Lamb thanked CTV and its parent company, Bell Media, for the past seven years.
“To my colleagues, you are my family. Thank you for all the laughs & memories,” she wrote.
“I can truly say it’s been a dream come true, to wake up with all of you each and every morning,” she added. “I want to thank all of you for welcoming me into your homes. I will miss it dearly.”
CTV Ottawa did not immediately return calls for comment.
