His wife, Melinda Karlsson, made the big announcement Wednesday afternoon on Twitter.
“First come loves, then comes marriage, then came the best news of our lives,” Melinda Karlsson tweeted.
There’s also a picture of the happy couple, who were married in Ottawa earlier this year.

Ottawa Senators captain Erik Karlsson wears a cap emblazoned with the word “Dad,” while Melinda Karlsson, standing in front of him, wears a cap that says “Mom.”
The Swedish-born hockey sensation opted for the English moniker, instead of “far,” the Swedish word for father.
Melinda K also shared the news on Instagram, collecting a cool 3,300+ likes in a matter of hours.
