Ottawa police have charged a local man after a string of weekend robberies in the downtown area and Nepean.

Police allege three robberies — all by the same suspect — took place on Sunday between 6 a.m. and 7:40 a.m.

In the first two incidents, the suspect produced a note demanding cash; in the final incident, he made a verbal demand. In all three cases, the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was produced.

Kyle Alinott, 24, of Ottawa was located and apprehended by police later Sunday. He was charged with three counts of robbery and two counts of wearing a disguise.

He was expected to appear in an Ottawa courtroom on Monday.

Anyone with information regarding these robberies is asked to call the Ottawa police at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
