Operation Red Nose, a volunteer-run service that helps people pilot their vehicles home after a holiday party involving alcohol, will again not be running in Ottawa this season.
The organizers of the service said no Ottawa-based organization stepped forward to coordinate the initiative.
However, Project Red Nose — or Operation Nez Rouge — will be operating in Gatineau this year. Revellers there who will need to return their vehicles to Ottawa can use the service from the Quebec side of the border, according to the service’s spokeswoman Véronique Lalande.
There hasn’t been an Operation Red Nose in Ottawa since the 2014 holiday season.
