The Canada 150 rink offers a chance to skate in the shadow of the Peace Tower with passes available online for opening day Thursday.
The rink is open from Dec. 7 to Feb. 28 and more than 40,000 Canadians are expected to take in what’s billed as a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity.
Passes are available starting 48 hours ahead of each skating day. For example, if you want to skate Dec. 7, passes become available Dec. 5 at noon Eastern time. People can get up to six passes at a time. Passes for 40-minute skating sessions are free but are on a first-come, first-served basis and can’t be sold.
Some days can’t be booked because of previously-scheduled programming and organizers warn that ice times can be cancelled, shortened or modified at any time without notice for circumstances beyond the control of the Canada 150 Rink staff.
