Skies and roads were clear Friday morning but a single-vehicle crash on Highway 174 overnight was snarling the morning commute and snow is on the way.
A subcompact car crashed on the westbound Highway 174 near Montreal Road at about 11:30 p.m. sending one person to hospital with critical injuries. Ottawa police reported that all lanes finally reopened just after 7 a.m.
Even after all lanes reopened, the City of Ottawa’s traffic centre was reporting that traffic on the roadway was “heavy and slow” on east-end commuter routes.
Update: 174 W/B has fully reopened, traffic delays continue. 174 W/B traffic heavy & slow from Tenth Line to Jeanne d'Arc; Innes W/B traffic heavy & slow from Orleans Blvd to Blair, and St-Joseph W/B traffic heavy & slow from Orleans Blvd to 174. #otttraffic
