Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for the area stretching from Prescott to Belleville.
Bands of snow, which may total five to 10 cm in some areas, are coming off Lake Ontario and heading north. The adverse conditions may last into the evening.
“Motorists should be prepared for rapidly deteriorating travel conditions,” the weather agency warned.
“Hazardous winter driving conditions are possible in bursts of heavy snow which can cause reduced visibility and quick accumulations.”
