A man accused of stealing candy from a Pembroke Mac’s while his sidekick emptied the poppy box has been arrested and charged with theft and possessing half-a-dozen different drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
George Thomas Bell, 33, is the second man charged in the theft from the convenience store on Pembroke Street East on Remembrance Day.
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP reports he’s charged with possessing methamphetamine, hydromorphone (an opioid), lorazepam (an anxiety medication), nabilone, hash and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking along with theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a recognizance.
Bell was released on bail to appear in court Jan. 9 in Pembroke.
Cory Grant Albert Lapierre, 30, who faces charges including theft under $5,000 in connection with thefts of poppy cash from two Pembroke Mac’s stores last month, was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
