One woman is dead following a hit and run in Gatineau Saturday, according to police. The woman, in her late sixties, was struck by a vehicle as it turned left from rue Jacques-Carter onto boulevard Gréber, near the Lady Aberdeen bridge.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop following the incident, police say. The vehicle was described by police as a minibus used as accessible transportation for persons with disabilities.
Police received a call to the scene around 1:45 p.m. The woman was moved to a local hospital and later pronounced dead, police say.
Police have spoken to several witnesses, but are still investigating. No one has been arrested.
