An Ottawa Police Services officer has been charged with assault causing bodily harm stemming from an off-duty incident last week in the Outaouais.
Police said the officer was arrested and charged Dec. 15 by the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police following an incident Dec. 14.
The officer was released by the MRC on a promise to appear in court.
The officer’s name is not being release in order to protect the officer’s privacy as this relates to a domestic matter, Ottawa police said in a release.
The officer has been assigned to administrative duties.
The Ottawa Police Service Professional Standards Section is also investigating the matter and charges may be laid under the Police Services Act.
