Things got pretty ugly on social media Tuesday with a deluge of ugly Christmas garment tweets, all in support of the Ottawa Food Bank.
Participants submitted “elfies” of themselves in ugly sweaters, ugly T-shirts, and other woolly ugly goodness, with prizing for the ugliest sweater.
Participants uploaded their “elfies” to Twitter, tagged with #OttawaFoodBank and #CozyComfyChristmas. Giant Tiger donated $1 per eligible post which combined with the bank’s other financing programs, translates into $5 worth of food per submission.
“We were hoping to have a bit of fun with Ugly Christmas Sweater Day while raising awareness and a bit of money,” said Food Bank communications coordinatorSamantha Ingram.
If you missed the fun, you don’t have to wear ugly clothes to help the Food Bank. The group accepts donations at www.ottawafoodbank/donate .
