Ottawa police are seeking public assistance after a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound checked himself into hospital early Wednesday.
The Ottawa Police Service says the victim’s wounds were not life-threatening but gave no more information.
They said the victim was not cooperating with detectives and investigators have so far been unable establish where the shooting took place.
The guns and gangs unit is asking that anyone who may have heard gunshots or who has knowledge of the incident contact them.
They ask that the public call 613-236-1222, ext.5050, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
It was the city’s 70th shooting incident of the year.
