Police and paramedics responded to an emergency call on Freshette Street in Vanier at approximately 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
A man in his 50s had gone into cardiac arrest after being shot.
Police were first to arrive and performed CPR and used a defibrillator to try and stabilize the man.
As soon as they arrived, paramedics took over from police and performed “aggressive life saving interventions.”
The man remained in cardiac arrest as he was transported to the trauma center.
Police are investigating the incident and expect to release further updates this morning.
