Environment Canada is calling for as much as 10 centimetres of snow and reduced visibility this afternoon into the evening.
According to the federal weather watcher a low pressure system carrying significant precipitation will blow into the nation’s capital at a fast pace right around noon. Environment Canada is urging travellers to adjust their travel plans and avoid highway commutes, especially along the 401 corridor towards Toronto, if at all possible.
The snow is expected to fall well into Monday afternoon, but should end by Tuesday. However, temperatures are expected to plummet next week. Environment Canada is predicting highs of between -15 degrees Celsius and -19 C for much of the week.
