The internal investigations unit for police in Quebec has begun an investigation into an incident that occurred in the Outaouais community of Danford Lake.
The small township is patrolled by the Sûreté du Québec.
Like Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit, Quebec’s Bureau des enquêtes indépendants investigates police involved shootings.
The BEI did not release any details of the incident. There were media reports of a shooting in the area.
Danford Lake is in the municipality of Alleyn-et-Cawood, about 90 kilometres north of Ottawa. The community has a population of about 200 people.
