Happy first day of 2018.
If you were hoping that Mother Nature’s New Year’s resolution for 2018 was to raise the temperatures a bit, you’ll be disappointed.
The extreme cold warning for Ottawa continues.
In the words of Environment Canada, “A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills is expected.”
They’re predicting a high of -22 for New Year’s Day, and a wind chill of -37.
Adding insult to injury, tonight will be partly cloudy with winds up to 15 km/h. The low will be -29 and windchill -38.
Tuesday’s temperatures should be positively balmy with clouds and flurries and a high of -14. However, winds gusting up to 40 km/h will give a windchill of -36.
If you’re venturing out today, here’s what’s open and closed today.
