A 53-year-old Quebec transport truck driver has been charged with with careless driving after his truck went out of control Thursday and rolled into the median of Highway 401 just past Kingston.
The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. when the truck, hauling a double-trailer of commercial lumber, crashed through steel barriers before rolling its side into the steep embankment.
Paramedics treated the driver for minor injuries.
The roll spilled lumber across the eastbound lanes causing traffic to be detoured for several hours until the lumber was removed from the road.
Delays continued Friday as the cleanup continued and crews repaired the guardrails.
Sylvain April has been charged with careless driving and is to appear in court in Kingston at a later date.
