If the weather Tuesday is temperate, Thursday will be downright tropical.
The capital awoke to barely below zero and a 30 per cent chance of flurries on top of Monday’s 10 cm of snow.
0 degrees feels positively tropical right now. Break out the tan lotion and Coronas! #Ottwx pic.twitter.com/p1V8Eno0h6

In other news, Ottawa was hit with a wave of sweltering temperatures today. Thermometers were seen climbing as high as -4 degrees Celsius (25 degrees Fahrenheit) #ottweather #Canada #winter

The upward swing was good news/bad news for morning commuters as Monday’s snow hills were turning to slush in all the wrong places, causing slippery conditions for the unwary and a spate of morning crashes.
An early morning crash at Sussex and Rideau led to delays Tuesday.
The temperature is forecast to fall but only to -4 C and the overnight low is a better-than-seasonal -13 C.
Wednesday’s high – and low – is -3 C with periods of snow expected overnight.
For Thursday, expect clouds, a 70 per cent chance of showers, a high of 5 C – you read that right – and a low of 0 C with periods of rain overnight.
For Friday, expect periods of snow, a high of 1 C and an overnight low of -18 C that ushers in a return to colder temperatures.
Saturday is cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of snow, a high of -14 C and a low of -18 C.
For Sunday, expect a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of flurries, a high of -13 C and a low of -21 C.
Monday is a mix of sun and cloud and -13 C.
