Police and paramedics were called to Algonquin College on Wednesday afternoon after a man was discovered in a stairwell unconscious with serious injuries.
A witness called 911 around 4 p.m. when the man, believed to be in his 20s, was found in the stairwell of the “C” building at the school.
“He was severely injured and transported to hospital with life-threatening, critical injuries,” said Keith Buchanan, the superintendent of operations for the paramedic service. “He is approximately 20, we don’t have any ID on this individual, police are looking into it.”
The school’s security staff guarded the top and bottom of the stairwell Wednesday night, and a few of the night students walking the halls were unaware of the incident.
The school declined to comment, pending a police investigation.
