Firefighters quickly doused a fire in an Overbrook home Sunday morning, but report that a family of six were displaced.
They were called at 8:10 a.m. to a fire in a bedroom of the rowhouse at 223 Whitton Crescent.
Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke but with a “fast offensive attack” quickly had the fire knocked down and were overhauling in order to salvage the family’s possessions.
Two adults and four children aged three to 14 were sheltered in an OC Transpo bus until victim services arrived.
Damage was estimated at more than $50,000. A fire investigator was on the scene Sunday morning.
