Don’t worry, the sun will return, but not until the weekend.
Environment Canada’s forecast for the week calls for lots of cloud and a bit of snow. Monday’s clouds will be accompanied by a seasonal high of -5 C and a low of -10 C, with a 30 per cent chance of flurries overnight, with 2 to 4 centimetres of snow expected by Tuesday afternoon.
The Weather Network, by comparison, is allowing for some sunny breaks Monday and Tuesday afternoon, but in exchange is lowering the mercury by a degree or two. So take your pick.
From then on it’s a matter of lather, rinse and repeat, as snow, flurries and cold will cycle through the week. The week’s high of 0 C, expected Thursday, will be neatly countered by Friday’s low of -21 C. As promised, the sun is scheduled to make an appearance Saturday, occasionally poking its corona through the clouds and flurries before giving way to another cloudy Sunday.
