Here’s a novelty: There’s isn’t a single weather watch, alert or warning.
We’re on our way to -7 C under mainly-sunny skies with nothing more than a few flurries Thursday.
Celebrate with a skate – the Rideau Canal offers up its 26th skating day, already outstripping last winter’s total, the National Capital Commission reported.
Or look towards spring with their friends at Parks Canada noting Wednesday that it’s “only” 100 days until the start of the 2018 season for apparently patient boaters.
Thursday didn’t feel very springlike with a morning windchill of -27 but we’ll see some sunshine and -7 C before the clouds roll in bringing a 60 per cent chance of afternoon and early evening flurries with an overnight low -17 C.
Friday is increasingly cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries in the late afternoon and a high of -7 C. There’s a 70 per cent chance of snow for Friday night and a low of -10 C.
For Saturday, expect clouds with a 40 per cent chance of snow during the day and 60 per cent chance at night with a high of -5 C and low of -8 C.
Sunday’s forecast is for clouds, a 40 per cent chance of snow and a high of -3 C and low of -13 C.
The sun should reappear Monday with mixed skies, a high of -5 C and a low of -13 C.
Tuesday is even milder with a mix of sun and cloud and a high – and low – of -3 C.
And Valentine’s Day offers plenty of winter weather love: the forecast high is -1 C.
