Suspicions about the financial operation of a school breakfast-and-snack program in Petawawa have resulted in criminal charges.

The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP said in a news release that concerns were brought to police in November 2017 by the Renfrew County District School Board about the conduct of one of its employees.

Police allege several offences were committed between September 2016 and October 2017, resulting in the arrest of Robin E. Van Hoof, 40, on Jan. 29.

Among the charges are: fraud and theft over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, breach of trust and use of a forged document.

Van Hoof is to appear in Pembroke court on March 13. Anyone with additional information was asked to contact the OPP at 613-735-0188 or Pembroke/Renfrew County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
