Unseasonably warm temperatures coupled with forecasts for rain have prompted Environment Canada to issue a special weather statement for the Ottawa area.
A mix of sun and cloud is likely to give way to rain by about 3 p.m. Monday, with between 10 and 20 mm expected to fall by Tuesday morning.
With a high of 7°C forecast for Monday, followed by continued rain and even slightly higher temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday, the national weather office warns of a risk of “ponding” of water in poorly drained areas.
Watch out for slush and deep puddles.
Temperatures will fall back to their customary sub-zeroes on Wednesday night, making flurries a distinct possibility, before it all returns to a mix of sun and cloud on Thursday and Friday.
