A man who rolled his vehicle in Quinte West over the weekend was charged with drunk driving, then so was the woman who came to his rescue.
OPP report that they responded to the single-vehicle crash on Baptist Church Road at about 6:46 p.m. Saturday and an investigation revealed that the motorist was unhurt but his ability to drive was impaired by alcohol.
But then, “a female party known to the accused male attended the scene to check on his wellbeing,” police reported.
“After speaking briefly with police it was determined that the female’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.”
Both were charged, got automatic 90-day licence suspensions and had their vehicles towed. Both were released on a promise to appear in court in Belleville next month.
Bryan Twigg, 44, and Christina Stacey, 38, are charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol per 100 ml of blood. Stacey is also charged with driving while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.
