Occupants were able to flee the flames at their home in Carp early Friday morning but the fire department reports that smoke damage means they won’t be able to return.
The homeowner called for help at 3:26 a.m. reporting that alarms were sounding and there was visible fire and smoke in a fireplace and on the main floor at 101 Huntley Manor Dr.
Firefighters confirmed a working fire and were working until the early morning on suppression efforts.
Police, paramedics, and gas and power crews were also at the scene to assist the displaced residents.
A fire investigator was dispatched to the scene.
