The Germany Embassy will be treating up to 50 customers to hot chocolate on Monday Feb. 26 from 8-9 a.m.
After the Canadian men’s hockey team lost to Germany on Friday, the German Foreign Office tweeted their condolences and asked Germans in Canada to show empathy.
Soon after the embassy tweeted it would buy rounds of hot chocolate at Bridgehead located at 96 Sparks St.
Travel advisory: Germans in Canada should exercise a high degree of empathy. Be nice, don’t gloat, give hugs, buy rounds of hot chocolate.
Just imagine how you would feel if Canada beat us in soccer

Is this some kind of sick joke, I thought Germans only drink beer, and with that being said should be buying rounds of beer

While others were sorry they didn’t live closer to Ottawa
Too bad I'm 4 hours away from #Ottawa. I'd love a good hot chocolate offered with the kindness and friendship of #German diplomats, after the great victory at the #Olympics
. Fantastic initiative guys. Great sports diplomacy!
