Weather: Soggy end to February, March arrives with risk of flurries

February showers bring a crop of March snow?

It’s not an aphorism that’s likely to catch on but it’s Ottawa’s forecast with clouds, periods of rain beginning in the morning and a high of 6 C Wednesday.

Thursday should be warm but blustery with easterly winds at 30 km/h gusting to 50 in the afternoon and a high of 5 C but then there’s a 60 per cent chance of overnight snow and a low of -3 C.

For Friday, expect clouds, a 70 per cent chance of snow or rain by day, a high of 1 c and an overnight low of -4 C that comes with a 40 per cent chance of flurries.

Saturday’s forecast is for clouds, a 30 per cent chance of flurries, a high of 2 C and a low of -7 C.

For Sunday, weather watchers predict a mix of sun and cloud, a high of 4 C and a low of -7 C.

Just in time for Monday, we should get sunshine and 5 C.
