Investigators in Gatineau are returning to the scene of a Jan. 24 collision that caused the death of a 59-year-old woman to try to reconstruct the crash at Chemin d’Aylmer and Chemin Fraser.

Detectives will be accompanies by an accident reconstruction specialist to try to better determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

On Jan. 24, the victim was struck at about 4:15 p.m. by a vehicle turning left from Rue Duchesnay as she was walking north on Chemin Aylmer.

She died one week later at Hôpital de Hull of head injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old Ottawa man, was questioned by police but was not arrested.

Police said the intersection will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., but the duration could be prolonged or shortened depending on the investigation.
