A Gatineau police officer has been charged with harassing and uttering threats against City of Gatineau employees.
Jonathan Lévesque was arrested as he arrived at work at the City of Gatineau Police Service on Friday morning.
Police allege the officer threatened to cause death or bodily harm to members of city staff on Feb. 27, while he was on duty at the police department. He faces two charges.
He has been suspended with pay.
Meanwhile, Gatineau police have notified the Quebec Ministry of Public Security that an internal investigation is underway.
Under Quebec law, a police officer convicted of an indictable offence faces dismissal.
