Police are investigating a robbery Tuesday night at a bingo palace in the south end of Ottawa off Merivale Road.
Witnesses at Bingoland at 9 Slack Rd. reported seeing a weapon that might have been a handgun during the robbery. Police responded to a call at 9:30 p.m., said the Ottawa Police Service.
No suspects had been taken into custody.
The director of Bingoland, Steve MacArthur, said the thieves did not get a “huge amount” of money, but police have asked him not to reveal any information. The charity operating the bingo finished the game, he said.
