I am a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Ottawa and I am writing to kindly ask for your help in finding participants for my research project focused on immigrant mothers.
The study is part of my doctoral research conducted under the supervision of Prof. Elke Winter and it aims to shed light on the situation of recent immigrant women of different ethno-cultural backgrounds. For this, I am looking to speak with immigrant women who came to Canada between 2005 and 2015 about the personal story of immigrating and settling in Canada, with its positives and negatives as well as the opportunities and barriers encountered.
It would be a discussion of about 45 min. and participants will be compensated with $20 for their time. The only requirements are that they are mothers and have arrived in Canada between 2005 and 2015. Participants’ anonymity and the confidentiality of their responses will be strictly respected as per the ethics protocol for the project reviewed and cleared by the University of Ottawa Research Ethics Board (the document attached).
If you have any questions or need more details, please do not hesitate to send me an e-mail or contact me at 613-986 7533. I can also come by your organization to tell you more about the project.
Thank you very much for reading my message and I am looking forward to your reply!
Kind regards,
Adina Madularea
