A two-year project to rebuild infrastructure on Elgin Street begins Monday, and traffic will be disrupted in the downtown core.
The first phase involves reducing traffic on Elgin, from McLeod Street to Waverley Street, to a single lane in each direction, to accommodate Bell Canada infrastructure upgrades in the area.
The work by Bell to replace aging telephone and internet lines will last approximately eight weeks, into the first week of May.
Elgin Street construction.
Parking will be prohibited on Elgin from McLeod to Waverley, and on Frank Street, from Elgin to Metcalfe Street as work commences.
More phases of construction will follow.
We recently published a fuller description of the project here.
