The frustrated Ottawa Senators fan who launched the #MelnykOut campaign targeting the team’s owner has announced where he’ll be erecting a series of billboards starting next week.
Spencer Callaghan, the Senators fan who raised $10,327 on GoFundMe “to let Eugene Melnyk know that we have had enough,” announced Monday that the campaign has secured dates and locations for the billboards.
They’ll go up March 19 for two weeks at Ogilvie Road near St. Laurent Boulevard, Hunt Club Road near Paul Benoit Driveway, Bank Street near Riverside Drive and Carling Avenue near Preston Street. A fifth will go up April 2 for one week on Bank Street near Riverdale Avenue.
Callaghan said earlier this month that the exact wording of the billboards was settled.
“The message here is we love the team and are willing to go through the ups and downs,” he said. “What we are not willing to do is support an organization that has lost touch with the fan base and the community.”
