First responders are searching for a dog in the water after a person and another dog were rescued Saturday near Upper Duck Island, just east of the Canada Aviation and Space Museum.
Ottawa Fire Services said they received a 911 call around 3:45 p.m. for a person and two dogs in the water, while another person was standing on the ice unharmed.
Fire crews dove in and rescued the person and one of the dogs, but they were still searching for the second dog as of late Saturday afternoon.
Ottawa paramedics and police were also on scene.
Fire services did not immediately know why or how the person and dogs managed to get in the water.
