After that cold snap, Ottawa’s forecast of mainly-sunny skies, a high of 1 C and an actual UV index (it’s 4, or moderate) feels decidedly spring-like.
And after a winter of wacky weather, take a moment to feel lucky.
As we think about sunscreen, our neighbours are bracing for yet another nor’ easter heading towards the U.S. northeast and Atlantic Canada. Toby is the fourth winter storm in a month.
The Ottawa airport was already reporting cancelled flights to New York City, Philadelphia and Boston Wednesday morning but we don’t have a drop of rain or flurry in our forecast.
Environment Canada predicts a low of -8 C overnight then Thursday is a mix of sun and cloud with northwest winds at 20 km/h in the afternoon, a high of 5 C and a low of -5 C.
For Friday, expect a mix of sun and cloud, a high of 0 C and a low of -11 C.
Saturday’s forecast is for a mix of sun and cloud, a high of 1 C and a low of -8 C.
More mixed skies are on tap for Sunday with a high of 5 C and low of -8 C.
Monday’s outlook is pure sunshine, a high of 5 C and a low of -5 C.
A few clouds creep back in Tuesday but the mercury is expected to hit a balmy 7 C.
