Provincial police arrested one man and seized a large cache of drugs in a raid Thursday on a property in Embrun, about 45 kilometres east of Ottawa.
Seized in the raid were more than 55,000 methamphetamine pills, one kilogram of cocaine, more than five kilos of hashish, in addition to marijuana, cash, weapons, contraband cigarettes and other drug trafficking equipment.
The raid was a result of an investigation led by the Russell County OPP – CSCU after receiving numerous complaints from residents in the community.
Réjean Lalonde, 52, has been charged with three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition violating probation orders, as well as a number of charges for possession of an illicit substances with intent to traffic. He was also accused of one count each of trafficking in contraband tobacco and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Lalonde was to appear in in court on Friday.
