Gatineau police are investigating a suspicious Friday night fire in the city’s Vieux Hull district that displaced three people.
Firefighters were called to the eight-unit residential complex at 9 Rue St-Étienne, near Rue St-Rédempteur, shortly before 11 p.m.
Flames were shooting from a second-storey window, the fire service said in a release.
Residents in the two-storey unit had already cleared the building, but neighbours were also ordered to leave in case the fire spread.
Responders required about 90 minutes to control the stubborn blaze.
There were no injuries. Residents of the seven other units were allowed to return to their homes.
Damages were estimated at $137,000.
