A 21-year-old man from Nepean has been charged with stunt driving, after he allegedly sped by an ambulance with its emergency lights flashing on Highway 7.

On Monday around 3:39 a.m., an officer from the Central Hastings OPP stopped an eastbound car allegedly driving at 153 km/h in an 80-km speed zone near Jarvis Lake Road, in Madoc Township Ont.

Police said the car overtook an ambulance with its emergency lights on. The township is about a two-hour’s drive west of Ottawa.

Faraz Mohammed Maqbool, 21, was charged with stunt driving. His car was impounded and his license was suspended, for seven days each.
