A 45-year-old Calgary mover has been charged with uttering death threats after telling his clients in Kingston he would “find them and kill them” for complaining about his service.

Kingston police say the victims hired the man Mar. 20 to relocate their belongings “across the country to their new home just north of Kingston.”

The man, who overloaded his trailer, demanded more money from the victims to cover the cost of damages during the move.

The victims failed to convince the man to deliver their belongings first, then handle any extra fees.

They phoned police when they arrived in Kingston on Sunday after a final attempt at contacting the man resulted in a death threat.

Police say the man “repeatedly hung up the phone on the investigating officer” so they put out a warrant for his arrest.

Provincial police located and arrested the man on Tuesday, giving him over to the custody of Kingston police.

The man was scheduled for a bail hearing Wednesday on two counts of uttering death threats.
