There’s no such thing as a snow day for Ottawa’s traffic patrol.

Despite the “icy” roads, Const. Jon Hall, who tweets as @TheBeardedCop, reported that he’d caught 15 speeders on Hunt Club Road well before noon Wednesday.

Most were clocked at over 100 km/h. Hunt Club includes 60 zones with major intersections so “when collisions happen here, they usually are big ones at those speeds,” Hall warned.

He tweeted a snap of one of the cars he stopped, adding a digital bowtie to cover the license plate.

Drivers will have to keep driving for conditions: Periods of rain end Wednesday afternoon with a 40 per cent chance of more showers then periods of snow begin with 2 cm expected before morning and a low of -11 C.

Icy roads? Not a concern for the 15 drivers we’ve stopped so far on #huntclubspeedway with most travelling in the 100s – #100club #Autowa #OTTTRAFFIC pic.twitter.com/BaCUHNqAvB

60 zone with major intersections along the stretch = when collisions happen here they usually are big ones at these speeds. #RoadSafety #slowdown https://t.co/zRcYDuArK9
