A moment of silence and reflection will be observed at the Ottawa City Council meeting on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. It will mark the passing of Jonathan Pitre, who died on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, after a long battle with epidermolysis bullosa (EB), and pay tribute to the players and staff of the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team who lost their lives in a highway accident on Friday, April 6, 2018.
To further commemorate the loss of these young Canadians, the flags at Ottawa City Hall will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. A hockey stick will also be placed outside of City Hall near the Sens Rink of Dreams.
